Thank you for your interest in the efforts of Historic
Newburgh, Inc. The following is a brief description of some of HNI’s special
areas of interest and community projects:
Historic Newburgh, Inc., a nonprofit organization established
in 1980, is composed of concerned citizens dedicated to the preservation, revitalization,
and quality of life improvements for a very special part of Southern Indiana - Newburgh,
Indiana.
The pursuit of the mission of Historic
Newburgh, Inc. continues with HNI’s projects and special events, a few of which
include the Riverfront Walkway, the Walking Tours of Historic Newburgh, the Fourth of July
Fireworks Celebration, and the October Historic Ghost Walks. The preservation
efforts of Historic Newburgh continue through involvement with the National Trust for
Historic Preservation and Affiliate Membership with Historic Landmarks Foundation of
Indiana as well as our Living Treasures, an oral history taping and transcription project
of HNI, and the Bicentennial Pictorial History Book Newburgh,
Indiana: Celebrating 200 Years.
Through collaborative efforts, the historic integrity and
character of Newburgh can endure. I hope you will join in embracing the charm and
unique scenic beauty of historic Newburgh. The success of the efforts of Historic
Newburgh, Inc. depends upon the continued support and growth of its
membership. We welcome new members and new ideas.
