(Newburgh, IN) – The Newburgh Arts Commission is just $50,000 short of building the Newburgh Riverfront Amphitheater! To date, close to $400,000 has been raised through donations and pledges from local businesses and organization, through family grants and pledges, and the sale of commemorative bricks and plaques.
Father’s Day is a great time to commemorate your loved ones with a permanent legacy the entire family will enjoy. Buy a brick with the family name or give big to the project and be listed on the legacy plaque on the building.
Why develop a Riverfront Amphitheater? For over 15 years, the Newburgh Parks Master Plan has included an arts and cultural venue for the Town of Newburgh riverfront which will enhance an already widely used and popular Old Lock and Dam Park.
There is a need to create a community that provides the kind of cultural experiences that young adults are drawn to live. Job creation is important, but many choose where to live based on the cultural and family opportunities.
The Amphitheater will act as an economic simulator for our small businesses. Tourism will also expand rentals of the Lock Master Cottage and Old Lock and Dam building and expand a flourishing wedding business. Many people are choosing riverfront weddings and the Town of Newburgh has long been a location for local Destination Weddings.
Donations can be made to Historic Newburgh, Inc. at 333 State Street, Newburgh, IN 47630. Please designate Amphitheater.
