The wines that one best remembers are
not necessarily the most expensive, but rather those drunk
in pleasurable surroundings in the presence of enjoyable
company. This year the Newburgh Wine and Arts Festival’s
series of educational programs is directed at enhancing your
knowledge and experience of wine while enjoying the company
of others.

Hosting a
Wine Tasting Party at Home is back this year by
popular demand and Riesling, Germany’s greatest grape, will
be the subject of this session. Invite your friends to a
Wine Tasting. Frank Hijuelos will teach us how to throw a
successful wine-tasting party. It is easy, fun,
educational, and you and your friends will have a terrific
time. In this session, we will not only learn how to host a
tasting party, but also sample several choices of Riesling,
noting the difference in aroma, taste, and texture.

If you are preparing to gas
up your grill this summer and wondering just which wine will
go with which grilled sensation, then this is the gathering
for you. Wine Fest favorite William Woerz will examine
reds, whites, and rosés in this two part program. As we
taste the different selections, we will learn how they pair
with “food off the grill” and other summer favorites.

This session will be a repeat
of the morning only the subject will be Cabernet Sauvignon,
the world’s most noble and widely recognized red wine
grape. Join us for an hour of fun as we try several choices
of the “King of Wines” and learn just how easy it is to host
your own wine party.
